Assen Vassilev: I do not intend to step in as an arbitrator between Peevski and Borisov

I do not intend to step in as an arbitrator between Peevski and Borisov. This was stated by the leader of "We continue the change" Assen Vassilev to journalists in Pazardzhik.

According to him, this will very clearly show who is pulling the strings.

We currently have a prosecutor general who is illegal. We have a minister of justice who supported a law according to which the prosecutor general should be replaced in the sixth month, he also said. And he called on Minister Georgiev to convene the Supreme Judicial Council, to convene both chambers – prosecutorial and judicial, and to explain to them what the author had in mind when he wrote the law.

"And the author had in mind something very simple - in the sixth month of his term, the acting prosecutor general leaves and a new one is elected to perform the functions. If Mr. Borisov controls the government, there is a Minister of Justice who voted for this law and knows what the author had in mind. Let him convene the plenary session of the Supreme Judicial Council and let's start bringing some order to the country. If the prosecutor's office refuses to enforce the laws, what is left for ordinary citizens," added Asen Vassilev.

Regarding the news that the deputy chairmen of the MRF - New Beginning parliamentary group will join the work of the National Water Board, Vassilev asked: "What do these people understand about water and water supply?"

I am not a water supply and sanitation expert, but what happened in parliament is that there was a commission even before this problem became so acute. Real work is needed. If we are talking specifically about Pleven, you know that as early as December 2023, each city could state what it needs. Here in Pazardzhik, the mayor said that the village of Ivaylo needs a water supply and sanitation system, it will be ready soon, although the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works is delaying payments. Pazardzhik is fixed, the villages will be fixed too, commented Vassilev in response to a journalist's question about the water crisis.

Assen Vassilev participated in the opening of the campaign of the coalition "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" in Pazardzhik, where elections for municipal councilors will be held on October 12. He called on local residents to go out and vote. "The antidote to bought votes is mass voting," he believes.
