Slavi Trifonov erupted against the proverbs "A bowed head cannot be cut by a sword" and "No one is greater than bread"

If Botev and Levski listened to these proverbs and heeded them, one would have remained a teacher in Kalofer, and the other a novice in the Sopot monastery

I don't know if you've noticed, but an advertisement is popping up everywhere that uses the Bulgarian proverb: “No one is greater than bread.” I have no idea who writes the advertisements and specifically whether the person who wrote this one is Bulgarian. But, I'll tell you this: the Bulgarian people are very wise. Indeed. They have experienced amazing obstacles, created many wisdoms and proverbs, but there are two that, in my opinion, are shameful and do not suit us at all.

This comment on "Facebook" the leader of ITN Slavi Trifonov.

One is: “A bowed head cannot be cut by a sword“, and the other: “No one is greater than bread“. If Botev and Levski had listened to these proverbs and taken them into account, one would have remained a teacher in Kalofer, and the other - a novice in the Sopot monastery. The two of them would have had bowed heads, would have broken off slices of freshly baked bread and would have meekly borne Turkish names. And we would probably still be slaves - with bowed heads, cramming ourselves with bread.

I think that a person should walk with his head proudly held high and, if necessary, starve and fight for his freedom and his principles.

And our history shows it. And these two proverbs? We should simply ignore them, not use them – at least not in advertisements.
