„The situation on the „Hemus“ highway remains difficult. Last night, I gave instructions to the „Road Infrastructure“ Agency to take adequate actions, given the weather conditions, but they were not taken into account. The organization is assessed as insufficiently good, not to say bad.
As a result, maximum sanctions will be imposed on road maintenance companies, including the state-owned „Automagistrali“ EAD“. This was announced at a briefing after the regular government meeting today by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov. He added that in the event of another inadequate action on their part, there will also be disciplinary measures in the event of further snowfalls and poor traffic organization. The entire available staff is currently on site to clear the traffic, he added.
Regarding the possible overbuilding and construction violations, the minister informed that today the DNSK will be sent to the affected areas to establish whether there is a deviation in the construction and from the approved general development plans of the respective municipalities, which could have contributed to the situation. All measures will be taken by the state in terms of control, Minister Ivanov was categorical.
