Six villages near Plovdiv protest

The reason is the state of inter-village transport to the regional capital

Residents of 6 villages in the Plovdiv region are protesting over the state of inter-village transport to Plovdiv, BNR reported.

The organizers are demanding changes and improvements to the transport service, as hundreds of people currently travel every day in old, uncomfortable and irregular minibuses.

Residents of the village, as well as those of Skutare, Trilistnik, Manole and Manolsko Konare, will gather in front of the community center in Rogosh, demanding that line No. 8, which serves the five settlements, be better organized and that more vehicles be allowed to travel on it. They will march to the main road.

At the same time, residents of the Plovdiv village of Trud will also protest for the fourth Sunday in a row, also demanding regular and safe transport. Their procession will again pass along “Karlovsko Shose“ to the roundabout for the village of Stroevo and back. The organizers of the protests point out that their actions are not political, but represent a civil initiative of people who use public transport daily and want real improvement of the service. They expect the mayor of Maritsa Municipality to meet with them and present a plan with clearly outlined measures - what and how many buses will run in the future, on what routes, as well as deadlines for each stage.
