The government no longer has internal support, Peevski digested Borisov's corporate vote. This government is doomed, it is a matter of time before it falls amid economic turmoil, said the leader of "Vazrazhdane" Kostadin Kostadinov in an interview for the program "Nedelya 150" on the Bulgarian National Radio.
"The perfect storm is at the door. Let's soften the free fall that we have been put into by the ruling party," he added.
The leader of "Vazrazhdane" comments on the draft budget for 2026:
"We are approaching a 9 billion leva deficit and we don't know what it will be by the end of the year. Because, through accounting tricks, liabilities are transferred to the next year so that the state can meet the requirements of the eurozone. The forgeries were committed with the assistance of the EC.
According to him, the government will not admit that they have governed badly, "we really don't even know what we are commenting on, because there is no real budget, there are general talks":
"It is undeniable that the budget is 20 days late for submission to the National Assembly, the procedure in the Council of Ministers should have been completed on October 21, today is November 9, this has not happened yet".
He pointed out that this is the third such budget, with inflated expenses:
"Now payments from 2035 will be transferred to 2026.
Simeon Dyankov from the Fiscal Council said that instructions have been given to companies to invoice for the next year in order to lower expenses, but their accumulation leads to the accumulation of internal debt. This is a monstrous indebtedness, there is talk of another 21 billion. debt for 2026, and we have 19 billion., with the growth of external debt, internal debt is also growing and this is worrying. The maturities are approaching and where will the government get this money from?"
Kostadinov believes that the only thing left for "Vazrazhdane", since they will make proposals, but last year they were thrown in the trash, is "to tell the truth and prepare for the inevitable moment when this government will collapse":
"If we were in power, we would show the truth about state finances. And this was not done so that Bulgaria could be brought into the eurozone. This membership for a year and a half costs us 40 billion. debt only direct payments, with losses it can approach 60 - 70 billion."
The leader of "Vazrazhdane" said that for 2025 our real deficit is 8% and recalled Dyankov's warning that "anything over 3% is proof that we do not meet the conditions for membership".
He commented on France's proposal that state debts be paid by all members of the eurozone. And he doubted that Bulgaria would use its veto right in making this decision.
Kostadinov assessed the changes in the law on Lukoil and the 29-second meeting of the Energy Committee of the National Assembly as "grand theft" and on Friday from "Vazrazhdane" have sent a letter to the Russian Federation:
"What is happening will cost us a lot of money, and not only from the Russian side, but also from the transnational company that manages Lukoil's assets. If Bulgaria were governed by independents, and not by a criminal gang, they would seek contact with the US administration, as Germany and Orban did. Romania yesterday requested the same. Bulgaria not only did not request, but stole Lukoil's assets".
