Father Irinej: May the last word always be for the good and for Christ

He reminded that Christian holidays are by their very nature called to bring people together

Christmas is a holiday that unites and humbles us every year - even in moments of trials, hesitations and social tensions. With this message, Father Irinej sent his greetings, emphasizing that it is the birth of Jesus Christ that is the basis of Christian joy and hope.

In the noon information block of NOVA NEWS, he reminded that Christian holidays are by their very nature called to bring people together, but Christmas has a special place. The Church does not wait for the “ideal time“ to celebrate the birth of Christ. On the contrary - “Christ was born in a time of unrest and uncertainty“, as it was then, so it is today, when our society is going through difficult periods. Therefore, according to Father Irinej, the holiday should be experienced regardless of internal and external crises - personal, state or geopolitical.

According to him, faith is preserved when we truly allow Christ into our lives.

Father Irinej also shared why he chose to speak about faith through social networks and platforms such as TikTok. According to him, the Church and clergy should use the language and means of modernity to reach more souls, especially young people. “They are trying to enter the temple through the small devices in their hands“, he said, but immediately emphasized that this cannot replace real participation in church life – the real path goes through the door of the temple, and not only through the screen.

“Let the last word always be for good. Let the last word be for Christ“, such was the maxim uttered by Father Irinej. He reminded that a person needs a connection – first with God, and then with one's neighbor. It is there, in this relationship, that the mystery takes place and the center of meaning in the Christian life is found.
