Emanuil Yordanov: Peevski is heading towards the status of a closed chapter in politics

It is unlikely that anyone will mourn the CPC and it is unlikely that the state government will suffer any damage from the lack of such a commission

What was not there and did not make sense is gone. This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by lawyer Emanuil Yordanov, former Minister of Interior, in connection with the closure of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

"There was a part that served for political repression, but what was being done is also meaningless, because it does not bring any benefit to people who misuse state bodies and the laws regulating their activities", he commented.

According to him, there was no point in creating such a body and there is no clarity as to why it is being closed in this way and right now:

"Hardly anyone will mourn the ACC and hardly the state government will suffer any damage from the lack of such a commission".

According to Yordanov, all the misfortunes of the ruling party in the field of law and lawmaking stem from the fact that "they were never joined by lawyers from high level and there is no one to explain to them how things are in terms of legislation, the implementation of laws. Everything is somewhat chaotic, attempts are made to achieve some result, but it is definitely not achieved. The rulers, especially in this area, have always looked like Max and Moritz".

The possession of the CPC archive is no asset, the former Minister of Internal Affairs believes:

"There is talk of Peevski's influence in the State Security Agency, where part of the archive of the closed commission goes. It seems to me that Delyan Peevski is heading for the status of a closed chapter in the political history of Bulgaria, because everyone sees how he said about Trump's mysterious accession to the Peace Council that it should be ratified, but no one reacted to this. Until a few months ago, this was unthinkable. Now such words and efforts remain unnoticed and no one deals with them. ... Remember how there was a time when he stood and pointed at the presidency, shouting "Radev, uuuuuu". Now he has become very quiet in recent days".

The fight against corruption will be more successful when normal conditions are created for the judicial system to work properly, emphasized Emanuil Yordanov.
