Parvan Simeonov: Andrey Gyurov as acting prime minister would be a gesture by Yotova to PP-DB

Dobromir Zhivkov from "Market Links" also believes that the choice will fall on Gyurov, because this is what society expects. He commented that too many expectations are being placed on an acting cabinet, whose main goal is to organize fair elections. According to him, it is not their job to solve systemic problems of the state

We have had enough of political exoticism– this was stated in “This Morning“ on bTV by sociologist from the “Market Links“ agency Dobromir Zhivkov regarding the GERB-SDF proposal for the Speaker of Parliament Raya Nazaryan to resign so that another candidate for the post of acting prime minister can be appointed to the post.

According to him, this is a PR request, because before the elections, Boyko Borisov's party presents itself as broad-minded and ready for negotiations – to help institutions in a difficult situation.

„They aim to shift what happened with the Electoral Code from public attention“, he also said.

According to sociologist from the „Myara“ agency Parvan Simeonov, Deputy Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank Andrey Gyurov seems like the most likely choice for acting prime minister.

„Against the backdrop of everything else, if it's not him, it will be strange. The question is who will be the interior minister and what will he do. There are many doubts about Gyurov, mostly legal, but as acting prime minister he would be Yotova's gesture towards the PP-DB, which is important in the post-election plan“, Simeonov added.

Zhivkov also believes that the choice will fall on Gyurov, because that is what society expects. He commented that too many expectations are being placed on a service cabinet, whose main goal is to organize fair elections. According to him, it is not their job to solve systemic problems of the state.

„According to the „House Book“, the president has no say in this story. That is why we are focusing on one of the few options that exist outside the outgoing government and speculating about the personality of the Minister of the Interior“, said Parvanov.

According to Zhivkov, the procedure is not unnecessarily delayed, because the resignation itself took place on the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays. „Elections are not held in the winter. "April may not be the best time, but no one expected us to hold elections in February or early March," he specified.

Zhivkov said that the amendments to the Electoral Code related to the reduction of sections outside the EU - limit Bulgarian citizens abroad. Simeonov believes that the topic should be discussed more seriously.
