Mr. Yankulov, as the person who led the investigation into the "Eight Dwarfs", has both the moral and legal arguments to demand the release of the Prosecutor General. We count on him to do this job".
This was stated by Andrey Gyurov to journalists at the presidency after the meeting with Iliana Yotova, at which he announced the composition of the caretaker cabinet, bTV reports. The President, in turn, approved it and announced that he would issue a decree to hold parliamentary elections on April 19.
Andrei Gyurov announced that he bears full responsibility for all the names of ministers in the cabinet.
He also commented on the choice of Emil Dechev as Minister of the Interior:
„As you know, Mr. Emil Dechev is a criminal judge. What we see in the previous elections, including in the decision of the Constitutional Court, is that the thread is breaking somewhere. From the Ministry of the Interior establishing violations during the election process and then seeing criminal convictions. We count on Mr. Dechev to connect these two things and make sure that people know that responsibility is borne for any violations that are committed during the elections. On the other hand, it was very important that the Minister of the Interior be someone who was not tied to one political party or another“.
