Lyubomir Karimanski: NSI reports higher incomes, but they are provoked by the public sector

According to him, the state is not dealing with the problem of speculation

„Technically, there were no serious problems with the transition to the euro - for the exchange of levs into euros. The functional side from the point of view of influence for each household has changed, but it is not solely due to the euro“, commented on the program „120 minutes“ on BTV Lyubomir Karimanski, member of the Governing Council of the BNB.

„A very small part is due to the euro, and a larger part - to what we call shocks in certain models, when we have supply of certain goods and their demand“, he explained.

„NSI reports higher incomes, but the point is that they are provoked by the public sector. This does not mean that only the public sector has raised incomes. Part of the private sector has also raised incomes under pressure from the public sector“, Karimanski also pointed out.

He also said that labor productivity has been falling over the past year.

„A lot depends on the uniqueness of the production of this private sector in terms of the product or service. If the product is unique, then we can be a little calmer that it would retain these personnel. But if it has a much greater possibility of being replaced in other sectors, then we may have much greater competition for labor, which will have its transfer from one sector to another, even in the public sector“, Lyubomir Karimanski pointed out.

„Here it is important to talk about productivity from the point of view of labor – what added value does the labor of each of us bring - whether in the public or private sector,“ he added.

According to him, the state is not dealing with the problem of speculation.

“The state seemed to want certain committees and agencies to be voted too much resource, too much power, and in fact we are observing that again the prices where they should be regulated have no significant effect“, believes Karimanski.

“There can be no speculation in a market economy, since labor and everything that can be a product of intellectual assets are very difficult to evaluate in the supply chain. Only if there is a market for it will it be realized. "Competition in Bulgaria is not so strong that we can count on it to fight the price increase," explained Lyubomir Karimanski.

For him, it is a disadvantage for the development of the country that we do not have an adopted budget. According to him, another disadvantage is that the extended budget must be extended again by at least another three months.
