Two flights - the government plane from Abu Dhabi and the GullivAir company from Dubai, with Bulgarian citizens evacuated from the United Arab Emirates, landed tonight at "Vasil Levski" airport in Sofia.

Minutes ago 3 a.m. tonight at "Vasil Levski" airport The government plane carrying 85 Bulgarian citizens from Abu Dhabi landed in Sofia.

Before the two evacuation flights, a regular FlyDubai flight, which was scheduled for tomorrow, arrived at the Sofia airport.

However, at the last minute, the passengers learned that the flight would take place earlier and that they could rebook their tickets for it.

Here's what two of the passengers who arrived from Abu Dhabi shared with reporters:

"On February 28, we signed up, sent an email. Great organization from the embassy in Abu Dhabi. They informed us about the group and told us where we should go and at what time"

Was there tension at the airport - people wanting to board, but there were no seats, for example?

„No, quite the opposite. I think there were supposed to be 90 of us. As far as I understand, 82 or 85 had arrived, so there were more likely some who had given up. It's normal for there to be tension. There was shooting even in the evening, and there was information from the government, that is, they sent a signal on the phones that we had to go to bomb shelters. Since there were none in the hotel, we slept half the time the night before in the bathroom, because it usually thunders in the evening. It was extremely strange for the little one, it was very uncomfortable - while you're sleeping, you actually grab him at one point along with the covers and move him. And he can't understand... you put some headphones on him and he blinks like rags, and you tell him: “Daddy, there are fireworks“ and so on...“
