The acting Minister of Justice Andrey Yankulov stated that during the hearing in the National Assembly on the "Petrokhan" case, he was not asked a single question. This became clear from his Facebook post, in which he commented on the session.

According to him, the hearing was another attempt to talk in general about "pressure" and "cover-up" in the investigation, without presenting specific facts. He and Interior Minister Dechev were summoned to the session.

“Nobody understood why I was summoned. The initiators did not ask me a single question“, Yankulov pointed out. According to him, this shows that there are no facts that would connect his name to the allegations of pressure or interference in the investigation.

The minister also raises the issue of the absence of the acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov during the discussions in parliament. According to him, it is the Prosecutor's Office that bears the constitutional responsibility for the lawful conduct of investigations and for supervising the work of prosecutors. “Who should be responsible for what happens in a specific investigation, if not the de facto Prosecutor General?“, Yankulov asks in his publication.

He also notes that the institution of the Prosecutor's Office is in an “institutional timelessness”, for which, in his words, the legislative branch and the body that manages the judicial system - the Supreme Judicial Council - are responsible. According to the Minister of Justice, public control over the activities of the prosecutor's office is difficult, as its leadership avoids communication with the media and answers to the questions posed.

Yankulov states that he will continue to seek answers on the "Petrohan" case within the framework of his powers.
