Ombudsman: There are no grounds to allow the large increases requested by district heating companies in the country

The quality of the service offered by district heating companies is not at a good enough level. The people who are most vulnerable, pensioners, benefit from this service. I cannot imagine that a pensioner with a 300 euro pension will be able to pay their heating bill next winter, Velislava Delcheva also commented.

There are no grounds to allow the large increases that district heating companies in the country are requesting from July 1, said Ombudsman Velislava Delcheva on bTV, quoted by BTA

The district heating companies requested an increase in the price of heat from 4 to 29% for the upcoming regulatory price period, which will be in effect from July 1.

There are no grounds to allow such a large increase, Delcheva said. In Vratsa, they are requesting a 49% increase. I hope that the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) will not allow such a huge increase, the ombudsman commented.

Regarding the voting of people with sensory disabilities, the ombudsman stated that there are additional steps that can be taken for the presidential elections. They are related to better informing these people and fully guaranteeing the secrecy of their vote. Currently, except with an attendant, they cannot vote in any other way and the secrecy of their vote is not guaranteed, the ombudsman explained.

Velislava Delcheva once again stated that the draft for the new formula for the building installation repeats the old one.
