The regulators responsible for the Euro Law, and not only, could have been proactive. There was a lot of ostentation. During the time of different types of public procurement, they could have been more active in inspections, because once there is speculation with public procurement with manipulation of services and prices - we can expect it in every commercial facility.

This was said by Lyubomir Karimanski, a member of the BNB Board, in the program "Face to Face" on bTV.

According to him, the fact that our country has more imports than exports has led to the increase in prices. "The raw material we imported at a more expensive price, then the more expensive electricity and we see that we are becoming uncompetitive, and the feeling for the end consumer is for a higher price. Another thing is the national psychology - why not make a better profit, since there will be no sanction", he added, quoted by novini.bg.

The country's financial situation is heading towards an increased deficit, said Karimanski. "It is not increasing because of the caretaker government. They could limit agreed expenses. The cost of living does not match the forecast from the end of 2025, with the budget that fell under the pressure of the protest,", he explained.

"Revenues cannot be according to plan. We are working with a 2025 budget - there it was planned that VAT would grow by 30%. These are some invented revenues that will make the budget have a 3% deficit. This shows that those who plan must explain very well what policy the relevant item in the budget is as a function of the government", Lyubomir Karimanski also pointed out.

In his words, the shadow of the debt spiral is peeking behind us. "I can't say that we have entered it, but there are signs of a period in which it may come to Bulgaria", he believes.
