Many criticize the combination of the positions of foreign minister and acting prime minister from Glavchev. However, the criticisms are not justified because it is a crisis decision. It is not good, but it is better than the previous situation.
This is what political scientist Ognyan Minchev told NOVA.
"It is not right to criticize the final result of a long process, which in itself was inadequate at all stages and could not produce a good decision for a foreign minister. Constitutional changes created a controversial cabinet status. Instead of being placed under increased parliamentary control, we find ourselves in an institutional situation where it is not clear who it depends on and who it is subordinate to. The second wrong step is the appointment of the foreign minister", he commented.
According to him, the argument for a foreign minister to put our consul in Vienna to work for Schengen was absurd. "Then Stefan Dimitrov was appointed, he has a history of political affiliation. Through Daniel Mitov, an attempt was made to overcome the situation, now many are criticizing the reconciliation of the posts by Glavchev, Minchev believes.
In his words, voting abroad is a routine procedure that does not pose a problem for a foreign minister. "Glavchev is not a specialist in international relations, will he have the expertise? In addition, he has serious commitments as prime minister, will he be able to reconcile", asked the political scientist.
