Evelina Slavkova: Different parties will implement different campaigns

The election campaign started already with the attempt to rotate the management. Apparently they sensed that the elections were approaching. Now the arrangement of the lists, the leadership clashes, as well as the messages are important.

Different political parties will need different campaigns, sociologist Evelina Slavkova, co-founder of the Research Center “Trend”, emphasized in her comment to BNR-Radio Sofia.

From GERB we can expect a more positive campaign, while PP-DB will probably use harsher rhetoric to get Peevski off GERB's back.

The battle will be especially fierce for the second, third and fourth places in the next National Assembly. The campaign for the European Parliament will go to the second line, this is not positive, but the 2 in 1 elections imply a higher voter turnout. I do not expect a positive tone from some of the parties before June 9, even for the European elections.

According to Slavkova, mixing the two campaigns will not be difficult, but I will be confusing for the electorate.

"We sensed a sense of overcoming the political crisis last year, when the “non-coalition“ was being assembled. But we can talk about a real end to the crisis only with a regular cabinet that serves a full term, Evelina Slavkova emphasized. We are yet to reap the negative fruits of the political crisis, including as consequences of the European institutions and the funds we hope for.

Low voter turnout and the lack of strong and stable political forces affect the chances of realizing wishes.

Success will be achieved by the parties that, in addition to the solid electorate, also mobilize part of the periphery.

We shouldn't completely rule out the possibility of other elections in the fall, even if we don't want them, added the sociologist.
