Pirinski: Peevski's claim is not the position of a responsible politician

The relationship between parties and citizens is very seriously broken, the former parliamentary speaker believes

"The general problem is that the relationship between parties and citizens is very seriously broken . It happened that the citizens stopped feeling that the institutions they elect are their real representatives, but are representatives of some other interests that formed their candidate lists, that loaded their parliamentary groups with certain interests.

This was stated by the former Speaker of the National Assembly Georgi Pirinski in "Deniat ON AIR".

According to him, there is a severe discrepancy between the big pre-election proclamations and the behavior in power, which is anything but the fulfillment of these intentions.

"At the moment we are observing an effort by the individual parties to somehow show that they have both the intention and the ability to propose another development from here on. And here is the problem. This degeneration of political representation into an uncompromising confrontation between individual parties and an internal disintegration of their homogeneity", added Pirinski to Bulgaria ON AIR.

In his words, the parties are losing understanding of the main thing - that whatever they want to do, they must win the trust of the citizens.

"The claim made by Mr. Peevski, that he can hardly solve the country's issues with a swing, is anything but the position of a responsible politician who seeks the widest possible trust for one policy or another. There must be a broad enough part of society that is really convinced that what a given party or policy offers is what people actually need," commented the guest.

The Constitutional Court is faced with a serious challenge, Pirinski believes.

"These so-called changes, which were imposed in an unacceptable manner last year, really call into question the constitutionality of this round of changes. It is difficult for the Constitutional Court to find a solution that would solve this confused and blocking situation for the country's development," he pointed out.
