Glavchev: By the end of the day, part of the vans for the victims of the fires in Voden and Kraynovo will arrive

The first container is already in the village

By the end of the day, part of the containers for temporary accommodation will arrive in the villages of Voden and Kraynovo, which suffered from the fires. This was announced today in the village of Voden by acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.

The first container is already in the village.

There are 15 of them in total and they are absolutely livable – with two rooms, bathrooms, said the Acting Minister of the Interior Kalin Stoyanov. The containers belong to the Main Directorate of “Fire Safety” and they arrive from different parts of the country. “I assure that by the end of today the first containers will be placed on the territory of the village of Voden and I hope they will have electricity and communication,” said Stoyanov and added that work is underway to level the terrain where they will be placed.

The acting minister stated that there was no way the containers could have arrived sooner without the fire being contained and the site secured.

They will be distributed according to people's need, checks have been done in the previous days and a list has been created. Stoyanov assured that there will be enough for everyone.

According to Kalin Stoyanov, the subject of the fires is being politicized on the backs of the injured people and all those who work in the field. According to him, the vans from the refugee centers are permanently fixed and do not have a bathroom.

The caretaker prime minister is on site to check that the mobile cell set up on Saturday is working. He said that the signal, which had been amplified four times, was currently being adjusted. The Acting Minister of Transport is also expected in Voden to inspect the work.

Dimitar Glavchev thanked and awarded the Turkish firefighters who fought the fire, together with their Bulgarian colleagues, military personnel, forest officials, volunteers, etc.

“The Turkish firefighters responded literally hours after we asked them for help, they are still here and working around the clock in the field,”, he said.

Fighting the fire continues today, four helicopters were involved before noon. It is expected that the fire will be extinguished by airplanes in the afternoon.
