Slavi Vassilev: When the coalition is unclear or rests on unclear commitments, it is better to go to elections

"These are restorative processes that are necessary for the state, since Borisov is not the all-powerful ruler of Bulgarian politics. These restorative processes sooner or later will give birth to the alternative that is so necessary for Bulgaria", commented the political scientist

The third term will rather not be realized and we will go to early parliamentary elections.

This is what the political scientist Slavi Vassilev predicted before the BNR.

"When the coalition is unclear or it rests on unclear commitments, priorities and behind-the-scenes dark deals, it is better to go to elections than for the country to live in an uncertain environment", he said his opinion.

The fact that the political system and parties are unable to assume their responsibilities does not mean that Bulgarian society should live under the sign of compromise and political uncertainty, the political scientist was categorical and did not agree with the statement that it is better to we have an unclear government than going from election to election.

"The problem is not with the people, the problem is with the politicians. Until the politicians take their responsibilities, we will continue to follow this path.

However, according to him, this process of political ambiguity, which has been going on for years, is not wasted time:

"These are restorative processes that are necessary for the state since Borisov is no longer the all-powerful ruler of Bulgarian politics. Sooner or later, these recovery processes will give birth to the alternative that Bulgaria so desperately needs.

In the show "Before all" Slavi Vassilev emphasized that it is necessary to adopt a number of decisions that an ordinary National Assembly can make. According to him, all the laws that are necessary to allocate funds under the Recovery Plan are ready:

"They can be voted on by the National Assembly. They don't, not because they don't have the time or opportunity, but because the political class has buried its head like an ostrich in the sand and is trying to avoid the issues that are on the agenda.

He pointed out that "corruption in our political system existed long before Borisov rose in the sky". "Unfortunately, Borisov strengthens this practice," the political scientist clarified and added his opinion that corruption in the country is a vicious but well-established phenomenon on the part of almost the entire political elite. According to him, the question is what is the way to get out of this eternal spiral.

Regarding the case with Nikolay Nenchev, who was chosen as the temporary manager of our embassy in Kyiv, Vassilev pointed out that Nenchev has been the desired candidate for ambassador to Ukraine since the time of Maria Gabriel.
"The circumstance is extremely curious – why today a so-called an official cabinet, which should be equally distant from the parties, as the constitutional law makers who changed this institute themselves stated, again offers the same candidacy to Nikolay Nenchev, which was proposed by Maria Gabriel and Nikolay Denkov. This should enlighten citizens to see who Prime Minister Glavchev actually works for.
According to him, the practice was not followed and this is not a regular procedure. He stated that the position should be filled by a competent person who is capable of protecting the interests of Bulgaria, which, in his words, do not always coincide with those of Ukraine.

"The narrative is not black and white to conclude that this war could end with the withdrawal of Russian troops. The Russians will not withdraw from there", commented Slavi Vassilev and emphasized that the EU and Bulgaria should look at the events soberly, and not with wishful thinking that we should help Ukraine and Zelensky until the Russians are defeated, which, according to him, it won't happen.
