The situation with the fire on the Bulgarian-Greek border is relatively calm, the Minister of the Interior Kalin Stoyanov told journalists earlier today he met with the representatives of the various institutions that are on the ground, from which he received assurance that during the last night there was no progress of the fire towards Bulgarian territory.

"This should not reassure us, that is why all these people are here, as well as the teams that are deployed. There are many powers and means. We are also ready if a possible flare-up or fire comes our way again – we should counter“, he also said.

It became clear from his words that all measures to control the situation have been taken. There are enough hydrants for the fire trucks to charge from. The clearing made on the Bulgarian side is also wide enough.
