Six aircraft from the Bulgarian and Greek sides are fighting the fire in Slavyanka mountain. On the Bulgarian side, at 09:00 this morning, 2 helicopters of the Ministry of Defense were involved. On the Greek side, 2 helicopters and 2 airplanes for extinguishing forest fires are participating in the firefighting, the Ministry of the Interior announced, quoted by "Focus".
At 17:30 last night, information was received that the fire had entered the territory of Bulgaria in a rocky and inaccessible area.
25 employees from the Regional Directorate of Fire Safety and Protection of the Population are involved in the firefighting – Blagoevgrad, 20 military personnel and 28 forest officials.
The fire is currently contained.
