The fight against the fire in Slavyanka Mountain on the border between Greece and Bulgaria has been stopped due to explosions in the area, BNR reports.
Although since 5 am our firefighters are on the ground trying to control the fire outbreaks that broke out overnight due to the strong wind, later there were explosions in the minefield area and the work of the firefighters has been suspended .
The work of their Greek colleagues was suspended yesterday - again for the same reason - due to explosions.
The minefield, which is along the border, is quite large - in a straight line it is about 1.5 km, and there are fire outbreaks right there.
At 9 o'clock in the morning, the French planes, as well as our military helicopters, had to join the fight against the fire. But by 10 o'clock, the machines were still not activated to extinguish the fire.
The director of the Main Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" is in place. Alexander Zhartov.
