Ten residents of the Svishtovo village of Hadjidimitrovo today blocked the road between Polski for three hours Trambesh and Svishtov insisting on having water.

The water regime for the 500 residents of Hadjidimitrovo is now year-round, despite the construction of a new water supply pipeline for over one million leva, which is not connected to a water source.

This was explained to the BNR by Radoslav Rachev from the protesters.

"People are suffering, they are under a regime and within the framework of the regime they still have no water. For nearly a month at the higher points, people do not have a drop of water. They made a project for BGN 1.2 million without anyone going to see that there is no water in the catchments. The pipes have been laid, but they have not reached the reservoirs," said Radoslav Rachev.

The mayor of Hadjidimitrovo, Emil Todorov, pointed out that the replacement of two water supply pipes has been made, which reduces water losses, but despite this, the water in the village's pumping station is not enough. According to him, water losses should be sought in the village, but the general solution is a new water source.

Tomorrow evening, the problem with the lack of water will also be discussed at a general village meeting, in order to look for a more sustainable solution.
