The debate on the Bulgarian European Commissioner must be opened, say the BSP , BNT reported.

According to the chairman of the BSP Atanas Zafirov, politicians should not prioritize the party interest, but the national interest. He pointed out energy as a serious sector.

"The deadline is until the end of the month, and there is still absolutely no position, or at least apparently one. The previous prime minister refused to hold a conversation on the subject and left everything in the hands of the next, that is, the current caretaker government. Therefore, at the consultations with the president, we put this topic as a topic for conversation between the political forces with a view to not wasting valuable time, with a view to setting national requirements for a serious sector - yes, the energy sector is a serious sector, as it is being talked about a lot let's say along the European corridors that it is possible to give this sector to a country from Central or Eastern Europe.

There is nothing more logical than that as a country that meets all the key requirements in terms of energy development, we should ask for this particular department, but for this to happen the debate must be opened, urgent consultations are needed, we need a unified opinion. We are aware of the requirement that Mrs. Von der Leyen set for two candidacies - a man and a woman, but perhaps the best possible solution would be to have one united candidacy for our country, which would give additional weight", commented Atanas Zafirov.

"Everything is possible, a matter of conversation, a matter of national interest. Here, we should not bring the party interest to the fore, but the national interest", Atanas Zafirov also said in response to the question whether it is possible that this is Iliana Ivanova.
