MPs did not agree that Boyko Rashkov should head the Commission for Control over Services

He had to replace Daniel Mitov

MP and former Minister of the Interior Boyko Rashkov from PP-DB did not gather support to head the Commission for control over the security services. He was proposed by the chairman of his parliamentary group, Nikolay Denkov, and by Nadezhda Yordanova.

The nomination was supported by 37 MPs (PP-DB, three from "BSP for Bulgaria", one from ITN and one independent). 132 people's representatives were against - from GERB-SDS, "Vazrazhdane" , PG of DPS, ITN (12 people) and three non-members of a group of people's representatives.

Seven MPs abstained - four independents, one from ITN and two from GERB-SDS.

The former interior minister had to replace the current chairman Daniel Mitov from GERB-SDS.

Nadezhda Yordanova, one of the initiators of the project, explained that this commission is specific, its chairpersons are on a rotating basis, and this is the basis for the proposal that Rashkov lead it during the current parliamentary session.
