They took the driver's license of a man, he did not have enough education

When he signed up for the driving course, Tony Spasov showed a diploma for basic education

They took the driver's license of a man with the argument that he did not have enough education.

The man took a course a few years ago, passed the exams and got a license from the traffic police. However, the same traffic police officer later stopped him and took his license, claiming that his diploma was insufficient.

When he enrolled in the driving course, Toni Spasov showed a diploma of basic education. “I got by on a regular basis. I went to the traffic police, submitted the documents for the license, after three days I got it”, Tony Spasov told Nova TV.

„I was working as a driver and suddenly I was stopped for a routine check and it turned out that I was wanted for confiscation of the license because the diploma was irregular,” says Toni Spasov.

He goes to the school to be issued a document that the diploma is regular and returns to the traffic police.

„Now they said they will cancel everything because I don't have tenth grade,” explained Toni Spasov.

Krasimir Georgiev from the Association for the Qualification of Motorists in Bulgaria explained that until September 29, 2017, a primary education certificate is required to apply for a driver's license. Then for those born later, who practically cannot have a secondary education, the law requires them to have the 10th grade.

„The law does not specify 7th or 8th grade. The concept of a certificate of primary education appears, Georgiev also specified.

Now Toni Spasov has enrolled in the evening and will pass at least the 10th grade.
