The reconstructed border checkpoint "Kalotina" will be opened by acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, the government press office announced, BTA reported.

Glavchev will also familiarize himself with the work done during the complete repair of the station. Acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova and Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Atanas Ilkov will attend the ceremony at 11:00.

The reconstruction of the checkpoint “Kalotina” was carried out in two stages in the period 2018 - 2024. During the implementation, the routes for trucks and cars, as well as the entire underground and surface infrastructure of the point, were renewed and increased, the announcement states.

In June, Dimitar Glavchev told journalists that he had prepared a project for the expansion of another border crossing - the "Malko Tarnovo" border crossing. Then Glavchev together with the ambassador of Turkey Mehmet Sait Uyanak visited the checkpoint. Experts from the two contact groups - Bulgaria and Turkey will specify other details and details of the project, noted Glavchev. The main thing is that we already have agreement from the Turkish side to widen the Malko Tarnovo - Derekoy road, he pointed out then.

Days later, Glavchev also visited the "Kapitan Andreevo - Kapakule" border crossing, having previously commented that the modernization of "Kapitan Andreevo - Kapakule" is part of the caretaker government's overall plan to modernize all border crossings.
