"We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) proposes to dismiss Tsoncho Ganev ("Vazrazhdane") as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly (NA). Daniel Lorer stated this in a declaration on behalf of the PP-DB parliamentary group, BTA reports. The reason is yesterday's altercation between Tsoncho Ganev and Yavor Bozhankov in the plenary hall.
On June 4, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Tsoncho Donev Ganev physically abused MP Yavor Bozhankov during a session in the plenary hall, Lorer pointed out. This is unacceptable behavior in a Bulgarian institution, he commented. Tsoncho Ganev has repeatedly used offensive and cynical language from the rostrum of the National Assembly, has systematically violated the rules for holding plenary sessions, including by shouting, blocking the rostrum and attempting to destroy the property of the National Assembly in the previous 50th parliament, the PP-DB MP also said.
The sanctions imposed so far have clearly not had a deterrent or educational effect, Lorer commented. It is unacceptable for the authority of the Bulgarian parliament to be led and represented by a member of parliament who systematically undermines the prestige of the institution, he pointed out.
Let us show that physical force will not prevail over the power of arguments in the Bulgarian parliament, neither now nor ever in the future, said Daniel Lorer and called on the deputies to support the proposal to dismiss Ganev as deputy speaker of the parliament.
