Last night's inspection in Varna - we entered late with all the teams of the National Revenue Agency, police, the Ministry of Justice, from our ministry, “Medical Supervision”. “In the three homes, especially in the first one, we saw rooms with bars, people are in a helpless state. A man fell asleep on his plate of food, if that can be called food. They are weak, as if you are watching footage from Auschwitz. The conditions were better for the other homes, but there were other violations. The first facility is a large house, a mini-hotel on 4-5 floors. Some of the rooms did not even have windows, and the rest - all with bars. There is professional video surveillance, as if you were in a military base. There were people with catheters that had not been changed for months“, he shares.
There is information that inspections have been carried out several times, but these facilities have never had licenses. Everything is illegal.
„It is clear that legal changes are needed. Attempts have been made by our ministry, there was no audibility. The documents are so intertwined that no one can say who the owners of the three homes are. 130 people will be removed, 14 have already been removed. There have been attempts to inspect, but the authorities have not been allowed in“, Gutsanov added.
„Yesterday there was a lawyer who appeared at the third site. He did not provide a document authorizing him. We will find out who the owners are within this day or the next, but this is beyond my powers“, the minister also stated.
„One of the people connected to the homes in the village of Yagoda boasted that he also runs a funeral agency. We will check this rumor. There is also a connection with the home in Govedartsi“, he said.
„The problem may turn out to be bigger than we imagined.“
