I would first like to express my condolences to Yavor's relatives and to say that we are categorically not satisfied with the results achieved by the Ministry of Interior. Bulgarian citizens must feel the security of the epaulette and it must be worn with honor. We have increased the salaries of those working in the Ministry of Interior and we expect results, we also expect results from the Minister of Interior. This was stated by the deputy from the GERB-SDF parliamentary group Kostadin Angelov on the sidelines of the parliament, quoted by novini.bg.

„We believe that the time for adaptation is over. We expect the professional leadership of the Ministry of Interior to apply the full severity of the law and to implement the law, to conduct all necessary training and briefings, so that this type of police violence is never allowed. Violence in any form is unacceptable“, added the MP.
He reminded the media that the Minister of the Interior has the ability to dismiss, punish, hold accountable and conduct an investigation.

We expect to hear all the facts about what we all saw on the cameras, in order to understand the reasons for not using body cameras and why the police acted in this way. We want to see results from the work of the Ministry of the Interior, but it is still too early to talk about resignations, Angelov replied when asked if they would want Daniel Mitov to resign as Minister of the Interior.

Regarding the Body Camera Act, Angelov indicated that he received negative opinions from all institutions because it duplicated existing regulations.
Body cameras were introduced in the third term of the government of Boyko Borisov. Currently, the Ministry of Interior has over 4,000 body cameras, of which 3,000 are in the "Security Police", and 1,000 of them - in the "Traffic Police". They are required to wear them and that is what we expect to find out - why the police officers were not with them", he added.
