It turns out that after the borders were opened, the number of people caught has increased - both for drug trafficking and illegal migrants. This control will continue both on the Bulgarian-Greek border and inside the country. This was stated by the Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov to journalists.
The Minister, together with the European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner and the Greek Deputy Minister for Migration and Asylum Sevi Voloudaki, visited the Kulata border crossing – Promahon.
Daniel Mitov pointed out that from now on the infrastructure must be improved so that Bulgarians and citizens of the European Union can travel faster and reach their destinations without any problems, BTA reported.
It is very important to note that the way in which the checks will continue is a challenge, Mitov noted.
He explained that these are so-called compensatory measures, which are carried out on the basis of a complex risk analysis.
