The protest on September 13 is just the beginning, promised the leader of the "Vazrazhdane" party, Kostadin Kostadinov, to the Bulgarian National Radio.
"On September 13, we are organizing a protest at 4 p.m. in front of the parliament. The protest is for the overthrow of the government. The government must go. This is what we will say and this protest is just the beginning of a process, because the one who fights for his freedom today will be free tomorrow, he pointed out.
Regarding their protest during the visit of the President of the EC Ursula von der Leyen, Kostadinov pointed out that she came to Bulgaria without being invited:
"We, the Bulgarians, are a people who have self-dignity and respect for ourselves. If we do not respect ourselves, others will not respect us either. The protest achieved its goal. And her visit was a complete failure".
"We are among the people, constantly, every day, without a day off, because this is our job. Deputies are not obliged to work only in parliament," the leader of "Vazrazhdane" noted in the program "Nedelya 150". And he continued:
"For MPs, the work process is 4 days in the constituency and 3 days in the parliament. If you see the parliament right now without "Vazrazhdane" - it is empty, there are no more than 20-30 people in it, you will see that "Velichye", MECH, PP-DB are the ones who make up the quorum of the ruling party".
"It is not important whether a deputy receives a salary or not, because many people receive salaries - they register at 9 a.m. and then leave at 9.30 a.m. However, no one asks them what has been done", commented Kostadinov and reminded of the parliamentary group's proposal to differentiate the remuneration of deputies.
Regarding the procedures for new members of the regulators, Kostadinov commented:
"This is a topic that has been dragging on since 2020. A large part of the so-called regulators are on pause because their heads and members have expired. For us, the main question is to what extent these regulators are needed at all. A large part of them serve as a convenient and quiet political haven for political retirement or for creating repressive bludgeons of power, which serve only and solely against opponents of power".
In his words, the Bulgarian state administration has "overgrown" with many new artificial and redundant entities, which, in his opinion, make no sense to exist. And he gave the example of the Commission on Files, the Commission for Consumer Protection, the Commission for Protection against Discrimination, the Commission for Personal Data Protection. He noted that people's problems are different - income, quality of life, dirty air, roads, overbuilding, etc. For him, the CPC does not develop any activity.
According to him, there is no benefit from the Anti-Corruption Commission either:
"The crying of the PP-DB is very funny, because those who are currently shouting the most against the CPC are the ones who created it. Unfortunately, the infantilism of the PP-DB is costing not only them, but also the entire Bulgarian political system, because the deal with the Devil that they made last year, including GERB and Peevski's MRF in the government, is actually costing all of Bulgaria dearly, because we see that these people are increasingly encapsulated in power".
Kostadinov explained the lack of "Vazrazhdane" candidates for these positions with their opinion that these institutions are "superfluous and even harmful". Moreover, when we participate in a pre-determined clash, there is no point in doing so, he believes, adding:
"We live in a society in which citizens see that not the most prepared, but the right people succeed. This leads to the decline of society itself. People are already aware or have developed the belief that there is no point in learning, developing, being good. That is why Bulgarian society is turning into a failed society, a society in which there are no values".
According to him, "mutrization is turning into a mental problem".
Very often words are at odds with deeds, Kostadinov commented on the position of President Rumen Radev. According to him, people are disappointed, which is why people are not voting en masse.
"We have seen great inconsistency in the president's actions. "We have also seen good things from the president. The question is what we will see from now on," the MP said about the president's possible future party and its interaction with "Vazrazhdane".
