German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful is visiting Poland today, with the main item on the agenda expected to be the ongoing Russian provocations and violations of NATO airspace, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

Warsaw will host a meeting between Wadeful and his colleagues Jean-Noël Barrot of France and Radosław Sikorski of Poland within the framework of the Weimar Triangle format. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Szybiga is expected to join the discussions later.

According to a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry in Berlin, the talks will also focus on joint support for Ukraine.

Vadeful then plans to deliver a speech on European security and deterrence capabilities at a security conference in the Polish capital.

Two and a half weeks ago, a Russian air strike against Ukraine led to the penetration of a large number of drones into Polish and NATO airspace, respectively. The Polish Air Force and other NATO allies managed to shoot down some of them. Such an incident is a first for NATO, DPA noted.

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly early last week, US President Donald Trump supported action against Russian aircraft and drones in case of violations of the airspace of NATO countries.
