Tel Aviv and Jerusalem - the dirtiest cities on February 14

Air pollution levels in Tel Aviv reached 2090 AQI

Tel Aviv and Jerusalem topped the list of the most polluted cities on the planet on February 14 due to a severe dust storm that swept across Israel that day. This was reported by the Ynet portal, citing data from the Swiss company IQAir, which assesses air quality in cities.

According to these data, air pollution levels in Tel Aviv reached 2090 AQI. In Jerusalem, this level rose to 597 AQI. In both cities, air quality is rated as “hazardous“. Third place in the IQAir ranking is occupied by Lahore, Pakistan, where pollution reached 1165 AQI and is classified as “unhealthy“.

Due to the weather conditions, doctors are recommending that Israelis avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary, and are also warning that outdoor activities can pose a serious risk to people with chronic diseases.
