The Turkish Presidency's Communications Directorate has categorically denied claims on social media that Ankara supported the US-Israeli strikes against Iran, calling the claims "completely baseless disinformation aimed at misleading the public", the "Türkiye Today" newspaper reported, quoted by BTA.
The Counter-Disinformation Center issued two separate statements today, refuting false claims about Ankara's alleged role in the conflict and manipulated footage depicting illegal border crossings from Iran, the newspaper said.
"The claims on some media platforms that Turkey supports the recent strikes against Iran are completely baseless and constitute disinformation aimed at misleading the public. public", the center said on the Ex network.
The publication highlights the basic principles of Turkish foreign policy: "The Republic of Turkey does not allow its air, land or sea assets, including airspace, to be used for the purposes of operations in favor of any party in any conflict or war in which the country is not involved".
The directorate emphasizes that Turkey's sovereignty over its airspace, land and sea territories is "complete and indisputable".
In a separate statement, the center commented on footage distributed on social networks depicting alleged illegal border crossings from Iran to Turkey, stating that they contain disinformation. According to the center, these footage include old recordings from an unknown time and place and were distributed "deliberately" in the context of current events
"There is no concrete data linking these images to the Turkish border line", the Counter-Disinformation Center emphasizes, adding that "Turkey's border security is maintained 24 hours a day, seven days a week through multi-layered systems without any interruption".
