The first female chancellor of Austria - Brigite Bierlein, died on June 3 at the age of 74, reported AFP , quoted by BNR.
Bierlein, who before her appointment as chancellor was also the first female president of the Constitutional Court, died "a few days before her 75th birthday, after a short but serious illness”, the court said on its website.

Beirlein led a caretaker government from June 2019 to January 2020 after the government of conservative Sebastian Kurz collapsed in the so-called "Ibizagate" scandal. Her cabinet was composed of six women and six men.
Before being appointed head of the Constitutional Court, Bierlein held several other positions as judge and prosecutor.
