Over 500 attacks on refugees in Germany in half a year

These are crimes such as causing dangerous bodily harm, inciting ethnic hatred and coercion

German police registered 519 attacks on refugees and seekers asylum across the country in the first half of the year, the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung newspaper reported, citing the government's response to a corresponding request from the Left Party group in the Bundestag.

These are crimes such as causing dangerous bodily harm, inciting ethnic hatred and coercion. As a result of these actions, 46 people were injured, including 6 children.

Police attributed the majority of crimes - 456 - to representatives of far-right forces. Refugees in Saxony and Thuringia were most often attacked.

In the first half of the year there were also 69 attacks on refugee shelters.
