Russia is violating its declared "Easter truce", and shelling continues. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, citing a report by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky on the situation on the front as of 6:00.
„There have already been 59 Russian shellings and five assault actions by Russian units in different directions of the front line. "Combat clashes were registered in the Starobelsk, Pokrovske and Novopavlovsk directions in the Donetsk region and one in the Stepnoye region in the Zaporizhia direction," the president said.
Zelensky also reported Russian artillery strikes and the use of drones in the Kursk region.
He noted that the soldiers of the Ukrainian armed forces "respond in the way the enemy deserves in specific combat circumstances."
The president also noted that between 18:00 yesterday and 00:00 today, there were 387 shelling and 19 assault actions by the Russian army. The Russians used drones 290 times.
"The Russian army is trying to create a general impression of a ceasefire, but it is not giving up individual attempts to advance and inflict losses on Ukraine. "Moscow must fully comply with the terms of the ceasefire. The Ukrainian proposal to implement and extend the ceasefire for 30 days after 24:00 today remains in force," the head of state stressed.
