The Kremlin said today that the proliferation of nuclear weapons in Europe will not contribute to the security of the continent, RIA Novosti reports, BTA reports.

“The expansion of the nuclear arsenal on the European continent does not lead to increased security, predictability and stability“, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists.

His comment was in response to French President Emmanuel Macron's statement, who announced that France was ready to discuss the possibility of deploying its aircraft capable of carrying nuclear weapons on the territory of other European Union countries.
