The Kia EV3, which will be the brand's most affordable zero-emissions offering, debuted as a concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show last November. Now on the cusp of its much-anticipated debut, several images allow us to see the electric crossover in finished production form, shortly before its official unveiling, scheduled for May 23.
Evolving from its concept roots, the EV3 retains the familiar edgy contours, featuring upright front and rear profiles adorned with signature lighting elements. Beneath its familiar exterior, the EV3 shares a common lineage with its bigger brothers, the EV6 and EV9, sharing the advanced E-GMP platform. However, as a strategic departure, the EV3 is said to be ready to ditch the 800-volt architecture.
Such a deviation portends not only a divergence in technical specifications, but also a strategic positioning within the brand's electric ecosystem, carving out a separate niche for the EV3, which will certainly play a decisive role in the price policy.
