More details have become known about the new generation of Volkswagen's compact crossover. The model will reportedly get a design inspired by the Tiguan, a new main infotainment screen and electrified engines from the Golf.
Spies at Carscoops recently spotted a test prototype of the second-generation Volkswagen T-Roc. According to them, the innovation will borrow design elements from the Volkswagen Tiguan, such as the light strip connecting the IQ.Light matrix headlights, a different radiator grille and a curved front cover.
The chrome line on the sides is also present, but now the crossover has slightly different fenders. The rear of the car gets new lights and a slightly more aggressive bumper design.
In the cabin, the new T-Roc will receive a 12.9-inch infotainment screen with built-in artificial intelligence. Volkswagen is also said to aim to improve the driving experience with new interior lighting.
Higher quality materials for the upholstery, parking assistance systems and improved noise insulation are also among the highlights of the new generation. The new T-Roc will likely come with the engines used in the facelifted Volkswagen Golf.
They will be combined with both a six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed automatic gearbox. All-wheel drive will be available as an option.
It has also been reported that the T-Roc Cabriolet model will be discontinued. The new generation T-Roc is expected to be introduced at the end of this year or early next year.
