How Renault avoided a production crisis in the first half of the year - 1

The long-awaited sales figures for Renault for the first six months of 2025 brought relief to the company, especially after the recent stock market crash. Despite a challenging market context, especially in Europe, the French group, which includes the Alpine, Dacia and Renault brands, recorded a slight increase of 1.3% worldwide, with a total of 1,169,773 vehicles sold.

Clio leads in Europe and the rise of the Renault brand

In Europe, the situation is more complicated, but with a minimal drop in volumes of only 0.1%. However, the Renault brand leads with an increase of 8.4%, thanks mainly to the Clio 5 model. Although facing retirement, the model climbed to the top of European sales. Renault's success is also being bolstered by the Symbioz, which has made a strong start with 60,000 sales in Europe, confirming the demand for affordable, albeit hybrid, models.

Dacia and the international market

Dacia has made modest progress, with an increase of 1.1% in the last six months. However, this result was partly influenced by the rebranding of the Renault brand in Turkey, where the Duster model is extremely popular. However, the Dacia team is optimistic about the future, expecting success from the Bigster, which already has 17,300 registrations and 38,000 orders still to be delivered.

The international market has made a significant contribution to the group's global results. Renault has recorded a 16.3% increase in sales outside Europe, with growth reaching 24% in South America thanks to the small SUV Kardian. The manufacturer plans to consolidate this trend with the new Boreal model.

Challenges for trucks and Alpine

However, not everything is rosy. Sales of light trucks under the Renault brand have fallen by 29% worldwide, mainly due to the not yet fully launched new Master. At Alpine, despite an impressive growth of 89.8% thanks to the A290, total sales amounted to only 4,871 units, which is far from the volumes of the Renault brand.

Overall, the data shows that Renault is managing to cope with the current market difficulties, relying on its strong models and the expansion of its international markets.
