In September, the American shipping company FedEx predicted losses of $ 1 billion due to a decline in the volume of shipments between China and the United States. In response, the corporation is currently reallocating resources, including redirecting air cargo to other routes.
„A new balance is forming in supply chains, and they are becoming increasingly regional“, FedEx CEO Raj Subramaniam told the Bloomberg New Economy Forum. He added that the changes are long-term and will lead to the formation of a new regional logistics model.
On April 2, US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of tariffs on products from 185 countries and territories. The American leader later changed the tariff rate for a number of countries.
