The water regime in Pleven is being eased, according to the official website of “Water Supply and Sewerage Company“ (Water Supply and Sewerage Company) EOOD in Pleven.
Two hours more water will be supplied for drinking and domestic needs to the cities of Pleven, Dolna Mitropolia and Trastenik and the villages of Bivolare, Bukovlak, Opanets, Pobeda and Yasen. Water supply in these settlements will be restored from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. every day.
The company adds that as a step towards stabilizing the water supply, they have urgently undertaken the replacement of compromised water pipes in order to reduce losses in the water transmission network.
After selecting the most depreciated pipelines in Pleven, the water supply operator has rehabilitated these sections that have a direct impact on the city's water supply. Currently, the water supply network on “Georgi Kochev“ Str., “Rila“ Str., “Dimitar Konstantinov“ boulevard, the water supply line - the village of Yasen, as well as in the residential area. „Druzhba“-1, near the „St. Kliment Ohridski“ Primary School. As a result of the increased feeding of the shaft wells, nearly 40 liters per second will enter the water supply system of the Water and Sewerage Company additionally.
Studies of alternative, additional or backup water supply in the city of Pleven and the settlements in the region will also continue. The company assures that inspections to establish unregulated water use will also remain.
Yesterday in Pleven, a meeting of the Regional Crisis Headquarters on the problems of water shortages was held, which was attended by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov and the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov.
