Former Minister of Health and leader of the CDD, Dr. Petar Moskov, stated in "Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov" on NOVA NEWS that the current parliament lacks a real alternative to governance, and the policies pursued by both the government and the opposition represent "creeping socialism" that is leading the state to bankruptcy. He also commented on the tragedy on the Black Sea coast, linking it to the state's inability to perform its basic functions, as well as the need for urgent reforms in sectors such as healthcare.
In a comment on the tragic floods on the Southern Black Sea coast, in which three people died, Dr. Moskov made a distinction between natural disasters and the responsibility of the state.
Yes, there are natural disasters that flood both Bulgaria and all of Europe. But there is something to do to prevent destruction, to prevent victims. Because now there are three dead, which is a lot for God", he was categorical.
According to him, what happened is directly related to the understanding of the role of the state. "The left-wing state deals with promises, with social benefits, with spending my and your money left and right, with developing the economy, which is not its job. The right-wing state deals with having a reserve and readiness in such situations to be able to react quickly, in a timely manner and to be able to have trained people who do this. This is the difference between the one and the other", explained Moskov, adding that in Bulgaria things are reversed.
►Political turbulence
Dr. Moskov also analyzed the current political situation, stating that there is no real crisis in governance, and the existing configuration can only be "dump trucks".
"There is no crisis in the government. There is no crisis in the parliamentary majority either. They can dump themselves. If there is a crisis, however, it is in what you are saying, that in fact there is no real alternative in the parliament at the moment", he said.
According to him, on important topics that concern the lives of citizens - inflation, the state of the infrastructure and reforms in public systems, all parliamentaryly represented forces are doing the same. Asked whether President Rumen Radev could be an alternative, Moskov answered negatively.
"No, because Mr. Rumen Radev could only consolidate, unite under himself for the sake of his own political career the current fragmented left, pro-Russian, that is, this is not an alternative. There is enough left, enough pro-Russian and enough non-right in this parliament. What is missing is a right-wing alternative," he emphasized the leader of "Blue Bulgaria".
►Diagnosis of healthcare
As a former Minister of Health, Dr. Moskov proposed specific right-wing solutions to the problems in the country, including in the sector entrusted to him years ago. He insists on immediate reform of the structure of the healthcare and especially the hospital system.
"We have the most hospital beds for active treatment per capita. We need to move to beds for long-term treatment," he said, also raising the topic of hospices, on which "Blue Bulgaria" is actively working.
According to him, the main problem is that the Health Insurance Fund is being drained, as it finances "business structures, not medical institutions that treat when we need them".
"10 years ago I managed the system with about 3 billion and a half in the treasury. Now it is over 9 and something. I claim that neither you, nor I, nor any other Bulgarian citizen has received anything different in quality and quantity since then", concluded Dr. Petar Moskov.
