Culture in our country is on the periphery, although the government is working well. This was said by the former Minister of Culture and former Speaker of the National Assembly Vezhdi Rashidov in the program “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov”.
“I have been a minister for so many years, we have drafted bills together with my colleagues – I will always help the prime minister, because culture is a very great necessity for our country, because it is our identity, and unfortunately, at the moment it is sitting on the periphery, said Rashidov. According to him, the current government is fulfilling its delegated duties and doing its job well, given the political turmoil.
„Talking about free people, as they are called in the government, is street slang, because the opposition is currently simply outbidding. It had a great chance to prove itself to society, but it did not do so in these four years”, he explained. Rashidov described this period as „lost time”.
„If there is no clear position and program, there will certainly be no dividend for society, especially with such hate speech as we see. There was also a reason for me to leave parliament - all this cannot provide for the needs of the people - roads, material, trust, Rashidov said. He also commented on the disputes over the right to use the services of the NSO.
"Journalists have often asked me what I do. The state is a state, no minister or politician is more than the state - everyone cannot move in a motorcade. This also shows another problem - if statehood is lost, power is also lost," said Rashidov.
