Boyko Borisov is currently a buffoon leader. Everything he says is meaningless, since there is no change in the governing coalition, except that eventually Raya Nazaryan will become the Speaker of the National Assembly. This was said in the studio of "Hello, Bulgaria" Boyko Stankushev from the Anti-Corruption Fund.
"From the first phase of turmoil in the National Assembly, we are entering the second - respect and trust. Borisov and Peevski are no longer ashamed to admit that they have synergy between them and are giving it publicity and transparency. The third phase will be when the leader of the MRF will lead, and the leader of GERB will be the junior partner and will support.
For now, Borisov is just a conference speaker for Peevski's strategy. We cannot verify the dependencies between them, but they exist. Everything that Peevski said is happening, and Borisov's words were not implemented, this is the proof. The power is in the deep state and the dependencies at different levels. We have all the signs that we are on the threshold of a dictatorship, given the observed collapse of institutions," commented Stankushev.
GERB will nominate Raya Nazaryan for Speaker of the National Assembly
For his part, political scientist Hristo Panchugov noted that he was not surprised by the lack of change in the composition of the ruling coalition, but he was also surprised by Borisov's fruitless anger.
"It does not seem that he was leading the process. None of the partners want early elections, but GERB nevertheless fails to impose itself on them. Borisov has already admitted that Peevski is part of the majority, but not of the government, so we have no mechanism for control. The leader of the DPS always gets what he wants, an example is "Magazin za hodno".
The problem is that this will continue to happen without citizens having any chance of control. The ruling coalition itself cannot hold him accountable for anything.
A large part of the citizens do not feel represented in parliament, but they do not feel that we are heading towards a dictatorship. For me, this is speculation. I do not observe any national discontent," Panchugov said.
