Vezieva on Lukoil: We will create even greater confusion if we start changing ownership - 1

"Lukoil" is selling its international assets, and the cabinet is framing the financial parameters of the 2026 Budget.

"The state is the one that must have a plan in such a crisis situation. We have a short deadline until November 21, and what all experts are calling for is to request a postponement. The Germans have already achieved one," said the former Minister of Economy Daniela Vezieva.

She is of the opinion that a lot depends on how the next two weeks will develop.

"Operational management does not mean a change in ownership. If we start changing it, there will be greater confusion. This is one of the most appetizing enterprises in the Balkans. Sanctions are a kind of economic and trade war, which is used to reduce someone to zero or bring them to exhaustion", Vezieva added to Bulgaria ON AIR.

We have a temporary reserve

According to her, all experts say that who knows what kind of price shocks there should not be.

"Minister Zhecho Stankov said that we have a temporary reserve and we will check how much it is. Continuity of supplies is important for the production of all kinds of products. "Lukoil" has between 50 and 90% economic impact not only in our country, but also in the Balkans. The Greeks, who could help us, say that they do not have such quantities. The problem should not be solved piecemeal, but a little more neighborly", the guest emphasized.

And two months of delay are enough to conduct analyses so that we are not financially harmed, Vezieva is categorical.

"If we talk about the final option - selling "Lukoil" - this does not mean that it will stop working. It will take some time for the government's strategy to be clarified. We do not expect to see a different policy in the next budget, which is a problem. We are increasing the social security burden, which changes the cost of labor and makes us uncompetitive. We are going to 10% of GDP just for employment costs", she pointed out.
