“The BSP's decision to accept the rotation was not easy. However, our choice marked the beginning of the possibility of dialogue, otherwise we would have gone to elections. I am delighted with the behavior of Kiselova, who chose to save the country“. This was stated on the air of Eurocom by Alexander Simov, a member of the BSP's National Assembly.
Alexander Simov emphasized that this rotation should have happened. “BSP had no right not to act in a statesmanlike manner. Many people will not understand it now, but in a year or two it will be understood that this was the opportunity to continue a government that would stabilize our country“, the socialist was categorical. He emphasized that the assessment of the BSP's participation in the government will not be based on this decision, but on how the transition to the Eurozone will be implemented, whether it will protect the people and their incomes.
„The BSP had no way of not entering this government. There was no way we could leave our country in chaos and for left-wing ideas not to be protected. Responsibility to the voters requires that you try to achieve what you promised them“, he explained.
Alexander Simov also said that this government is a test for the BSP and it is coping with it. „We are also about to implement a significant part of our pre-election commitments. This is the goal of every political party. Let them judge and criticize us afterwards. "We have 100 ideas for the development of Bulgaria and even if we implement 20 of them in the first year, it will be a good result," he emphasized.
Simov commented that the life of this administration will also be influenced by the results of the presidential elections. "They will show whether there will be a new situation or we will continue as before," he added.
The socialist was categorical that the BSP-OL is not ideal, but it is the real left of Bulgaria, "There is no one else who can fight on the left. The BSP is on the ground, writes platforms, participates in elections, makes decisions and does not stop fighting for their implementation. We have also managed to unite many parties around us. It is not easy to be left-wing, the left-wing position is difficult to defend, but we do not give up," he commented.
Simov explained that the BSP – The OL will try to include as many of its left-wing policies as possible in the budget, and for others, to set trends so that they can be included in the next budget. “Our priorities are clear – abolishing the flat tax, introducing a non-taxable minimum and a tax on profits“, concluded the socialist.
