The body of a hostage with Bulgarian citizenship was returned by the Palestinian movement Hamas to Israel. Sahar Baruch was kidnapped in the October 7 attack on Kibbutz Beeri, BNT recalled.
Two months later, the 25-year-old man was killed during a failed rescue operation by the Israeli army. His body, along with that of 84-year-old Amiram Cooper, were identified after they were handed over to the Red Cross yesterday.
Cooper was kidnapped with his wife Nurit from their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz. Israel reported that he died in June 2024 while in captivity. So far, Hamas has returned 17 bodies of hostages to Israel out of a total of 28.
